I am currently 37+ weeks pregnant, with my second baby, and in the past few weeks or so I’ve been experiencing some changes in my body, which I suspect are some early signs of the labour which is to come.
This is my second pregnancy, but first time experiencing natural labour and so this is a totally new, exciting and sometimes scary experience! First time around I was induced at 39 weeks, as I had the early on sets of preeclampsia. This time around all is well and so we’re letting my body do its thing in preparation for having this baby.
EARLY LABOUR SIGNS
1. Vaginal Looseness
2. Baby dropping in position
3. Vaginal cramping & Braxton hicks contractions
4. Intense lower back pain
Following this video, at 38 weeks and 2 days, I woke up during the night and experienced intense hip and pelvic pain. Low and behold, the following day at my midwife appointment, she checked me out and confirmed that the baby had fully dropped and that the head is now fully engaged!
